NSW: Firefighters lift work bans
SYDNEY, Aug 2 AAP - Industrial bans by firefighters have been lifted pending consideration
of a new offer on death and disability allowances by the New South Wales Fire Brigade today.
The firefighters union had agreed to lift the bans but warned they could be reinstated by
6pm today if the offer was not acceptable, a full bench of the state Industrial Relations
Commission was told.
The bans had resulted in hundreds of firefighters refusing to fight blazes and only carry
out station duties today.
