Fed: Unions call for $25-a-wk increase for working poor

MELBOURNE, Feb 8 AAP - Australia's low paid workers are seeking a $25-a-week pay riseafter unions said a negligible award boost last year cut real wages by about half a percent.
Unions today said last year's $13-a-week pay rise - an increase of about 2.5 per cent- was less than inflation, which stood at three per cent and further contributed to thewidening gap between rich and poor.
